Lenmed Health Resume

Résumé: Lenmed Clinic Ltd

History

The Company Lenmed Clinic Ltd is in existence for 27 years, having started with a 47 bed hospital in Lenasia (Johannesburg) in 1984. Lenmed is a product of the apartheid era; conceived and produced as a result of obstacles the unjust systems of apartheid placed in the pathway of our doctors and patients. Today, after a number of expansion programmes, the hospital boasts a modern 195 bed facility with a 16 Bed ICU, a five Theatre complex, a cath-lab and a ultra modern x-ray department.

Corporate Background

Shareholders

We are a public company with approximately 400 shareholders consisting of medical practitioners and business people. We are not associated with any one of the three major hospital groups (like Netcare, Life-Healthcare and Medi Clinic) and therefore entirely independent.

We have over the years, through acquisitions, grown into a group and now have 4 hospitals, all wholly owned subsidiaries of Lenmed. Due to this growth the company, Lenmed Clinic, recently underwent corporate re-structuring and a holding company under the registered name of Lenmed Health (Pty) Ltd. was established. As of 1 March 2007, the brand name of Lenmed Health came into being.
